Overview -Senior Clinical Quality Consultant -The Quality Team
is responsible for supporting the organization in four essential
domains which include Patient Safety, Clinical Quality Management,
Regulatory Compliance, and Performance Improvement.In conjunction
with the AVP of Quality Resource Management and the Director of
Quality and Patient Safety, provides leadership and support for a
variety of quality & safety improvement initiatives. Key functions
of the Senior Quality Consultant include collaborating with quality
taskforce and committees to achieve transformational and
sustainable improvements by providing project/program management
support, performing evaluations utilizing performance improvement
tools and offering evidence based best practices and quality
improvement strategies to implement sustainable improvements. These
components along with knowledge and experience of front line
clinical operations will provide structure and oversight to improve

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Systems Management or in
a related field required. Master's Degree in a related field
required. -
- Three years of experience in Healthcare and Safety required.

- Three years of experience in Continuous -Quality Improvement
required.
- Three years of experience in Regulatory Compliance and
Statistical Analysis preferred. -
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

- Six Sigma Training preferred. -Responsibilities
- -Promotes a culture of safety by fostering a culture of
learning, encouraging transparent communication of safety concerns,
and ensuring team member/patient privacy and confidentiality
- Leads, mentors, and educates employees, administrators, and
Medical Staff on the principles of safety, including the Safety
Always behaviors and tools
- Monitors and identifies patient safety risks via the error
management system
- Communicates potential problems and safety concerns as
appropriate
- Participates in data analysis of adverse events
- Leads adverse event investigations (RCAs) and FMEAs
- Supports safety improvement teams in identifying appropriate
interventions based on findings, implementing the interventions,
and sustaining the improvement
- Uses problem solving skills to evaluate safety issues
- Incorporates evidence-based practices into process and system
redesigns
- Monitors adherence to new workflows and policies developed as a
result of a safety event to ensure sustainment
- Manages data that supports quality improvement projects across
the organization (Core Measures, CMS and VBP metrics, RCA teams,
etc.)
- Ensures integrity of data
- Participates in data analysis
- Supports various Medical Staff and Hospital/Department
Committees and teams:
- a) Develops dashboards with benchmarks to communicate internal
data
- b) Visually displays data that communicates progress towards
goals and objectives
- c) Prepares for and effectively facilitates meetings and
follow-up on action items
- Utilizes appropriate regulatory resources to ensure compliance
with standards
- Supports the organization in ensuring regulatory compliance by
assisting in the interpretation of standards and in determining
what is necessary to maintain/attain compliance
- Monitors compliance with regulations on an ongoing basis
through rounding and collaboration with owners of the process,
service, workflow, etc.
- Communicates non-compliance to the appropriate leadership
- Monitors regulatory updates, communicates changes to
appropriate owners/stakeholders impacted by the new regulation, and
assists team in attaining and sustaining compliance.
- Acts as educator to departments regarding current regulatory
statutes and issues
- Assists in coordinating survey preparation and onsite survey
activities
- Facilitates the development of an action plan for non-compliant
findings, and oversees the implementation and monitoring of
standards compliance
- Uses process improvement tools and methods to evaluate and
redesign operational and clinical processes (e.g. 5 whys, PDSA,
Lean)
- Leads and project manages strategic initiatives and operational
priorities to achieve project goals
- Creates strong project momentum and builds stakeholder
ownership
- Supports multidisciplinary teams and departments in improving
quality and safety
- Manages data to support project objectives
- Critically analyzes data and transforms it into actionable
information
- Reduces barriers to enable adoption of best practices
- Monitors compliance of new workflows and communicates status to
stakeholders
- Assists in the training of end users, team members, and
stakeholders as appropriate
- Supports departments in the sustainment of implemented
improvements
- Integrates regulatory standards into improvement projects
- Seeks opportunities for continued professional growth and
development, bringing new ideas and methodologies forward to the
team.
