Description SAIC has an immediate opening for a Policy Analyst
supporting the Headquarters Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for
Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Office of Strategy,
Planning and Policy (AF/A10P), International Treaties and
Agreements Branch (AF/A10PI). Work is performed both onsite at
Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and telework/remote.
Responsibilities include:
Provide subject matter expertise on implementation and compliance
activities for arms control treaties and international agreements
impacting Air Force equities
Support Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological Weapons
Convention portfolios to assist with the logistics, planning and
execution of table-top, field and Base Assistance Team training and
preparedness exercises
Support arms control education and training efforts including
planning and execution of annual arms control course, treaty
profile summary reference book and treaty compliance officer
handbook Treaty Compliance Officers (TCOs) and other supporting
materials
Track professional development and academic community engagement
opportunities (workshops, symposiums, training courses, etc.)
pertaining to AF/A10PI and communicate with team and A10P
leadership
Assist with annual arms control workshop and MAJCOM outreach
Assist with updating and maintaining Air Force Instructions and
other guidance detailing Air Force treaty implementation and
compliance plans as required by DoD guidance
Utilize MS Office applications to develop briefings and
presentations
Draft issue papers, reports, meeting minutes and other documents,
as required
Draft and coordinate staff packages for review and approval
including use of the - Task Management Tool
Qualifications Required Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree and three or more years of related experience
or Master's Degree and one year of related experience -
Required Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of the organization and functions of the Department of
Defense
- Expert user of MS Word, Excel, Point Power and Outlook
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Demonstrated research, analytic, and writing skills required
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of Air Force processes highly desirable
- Knowledge of arms control treaties (Biological Weapons
Convention, Chemical Weapons Convention, Conventional Forces in
Europe, New START, Vienna Document and related areas) and nuclear
issues are strongly preferred
