Job Description:

As a Property & Casualty Analyst, you will work on project teams focused on performing reserve studies, pricing analyses and capital management activities for our insurance company and self-insured clients. You will be responsible for data preparation as well as producing and analyzing initial results. You will work closely with a variety of consultants and project managers who will help you increase your insurance knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills - all while providing a blend of client facing skills as well.

Note: Limited air travel may be required at times.

The Role

Work collaboratively with other analysts and consultants to determine initial data needs, examine obtained client information and perform follow up work required to populate complete data setsDevelop a strong understanding of the P&C insurance industry and become familiar with the various steps needed to prepare data for reserving, pricing and capital management activitiesSeek and participate in key learning and development opportunitiesMaintain steady progress through examsPrepare the first draft of reports for review by the consultantBuild strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teamsDemonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levelsDeliver work in accordance to project deadlines. Experienced Analysts will often begin to serve as the project manager on some projects which includes:Creating project plansMonitoring progress to deadlines and budgetIncreased client interactionScheduling and managing regular status meeting callsEnsuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the clientDelivery of projects which meet or exceed client expectationsIncrease efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processesMeet chargeable hours targetsContribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals
The Requirements

Completed Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or any other major with significant quantitative course work with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (provide transcript copy with applicationSuccessful completion of one or more actuarial exams highly preferred. Commitment to the CAS actuarial exams path is mandatory0-3 years of work experienceExcellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in ExcelStrong written and oral communication skillsWell organized and detail orientedAbility to respond to communications effectively and in a timely mannerAbility to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriateFlexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientationInterest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one's work fits into the broader landscapeStrong analytical and integrative skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic wayAbility to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
