The Senior Officer cultivates and manages member services, ensuring that the organization's diverse community of NGOs receives support and opportunities for collaboration in the North America and Latin America regions. The Senior Officer reports directly to the Project Director and works closely with the Global Head of Membership and NGO Services and the counterpart in GISF CIC in the UK.This is a full-time, grant-funded position through December 31, 2026. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC requiring at least one day per week in the office. Remote candidates will not be considered.Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including significant experience in event management.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management.
  • Experience in a similar membership-based organization is preferred.
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization or international development sector is preferred.
  • Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) software and databases is preferred.Primary Responsibilities:
    • Serve as the primary contact for GISF members, responding promptly to inquiries.
    • Guide potential new members through the application process.
    • Lead the planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, including a North America flagship event every two years.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of members.
    • Capture data from events for use in member engagement and knowledge sharing.
    • Support GISF engagement with the commercial sector and conduct outreach to develop strategic partnerships for the benefit of members.
    • Actively contribute to GISF initiatives.
    • Maintain a willingness to learn and develop knowledge about the NGO security risk management area.
    • Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks.Required Competencies:
