Job Description - Special Police Officer (250000Z5)Position: Special Police Officer - (250000Z5)Description: Special Police Officers (SPOs) provide protective services for patients, families, staff, and property at Children's National Health System (CNHS). They respond to emergencies, enforce hospital policies, and ensure safety using advanced technology for access control and campus patrols. They collaborate with medical professionals to enhance patient safety.Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum Work Experience: 2 years as a Special Police Officer (Preferred)
- Skills/Knowledge: Valid US Driver's license, effective communication, physical ability to stand, climb stairs, wear body armor, work outdoors, handle stressful situations, familiarity with Microsoft Office, customer service skills, knowledge of criminal code in DC, emergency responder experience, knowledge of HIPAA rules
- Licenses and Certifications: DC Special Police Officer

- Conduct security patrols, recognize and mitigate risks, and report issues.
- Ensure proper identification of visitors and staff.
