Studies Expert

Position Summary:
The Studies Expert is to support the Line Manager in achieving
APL's annual budget and ensure business data and reporting needs
are met. Through performing detailed analytics around Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial results, and market
analysis this position will support APL's strategic direction and
drive results.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Prepare reports and presentations by collecting data and analyzing
information and trends
Monitor Key Performance Indicators and highlight
challenges/opportunities
Improve reporting processes and automate tasks to improve
productivity and better support the Line Manager and Trade team
Develop data quality metrics and utilize analysis skills for
strategic change recommendations
Support the APL Line Manager in preparing and defending financial
results (results, forecasts, budget)
Support the APL Line Manager in taking corrective actions to reach
the budget
Support the APL Line Manager and Trade team to conduct market
identification and analysis
Conduct insightful ad hoc studies in alignment with the APL Line
Manager to improve profitability, propose new developments, and
improve profitability
Work as central communicator between APL Senior Management, Trade,
Operations and the Group Network to ensure alignment on the
priorities defined by APL Line Manager
Ensure business data and reporting needs are met.
Education, Experience, & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree preferred
5-10 years general experience
5-10 years industry experience
6-8 years of work experience in the shipping & logistics
industry.
2-3 years of business intelligence & marketing experience is
preferred.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
---Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
---Strong time management, attention to detail, organization, and
analytical skills
---Ability to work under pressure and produce quality results
---Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with
strong presentation skills
---Proven ability to work independently and in a team
environment
---Project Management skills
---Ability to problem solve and deal with ambiguity
---Experience in data analytics required
