KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Business Unit (DSE BU) provides full spectrum engineering and technical solutions across the life cycle of DoD military systems on land, at sea, in the air and in spaceAreas of expertise include acquisition, systems engineering and integration, AI/big data applications, cyber, R&D, test, and evaluation, C4ISR and sustainment engineeringKBR is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Defense Systems Engineering business unitProvides expert guidance on all Security system troubleshooting and maintenance issuesHas a working knowledge and familiarization with all fielded equipmentWill be required to research and resolve design and operational issues and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicableProvides advice on unusual or controversial problems or policy mattersMay supervise or train and be assisted by lower level technicians, and performs, one or a combination of the following: aPrepares designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems.
bPlans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques; resolves design problems and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
cDesigns and coordinates test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design; uses untried and untested techniques; and improves the performance of the equipmentMay advise equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies.
dPlans approach and conducts various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by (a) difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation, or (b) unusual combination of techniques or componentsArranges for fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipmentExperience Required: --- Minimum of ten years of experience in security systems design Education Required: --- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field Certifications Required: --- OSHA-30 certification --- Aerial and Scissor Lift certification --- Fall Protection certification --- Ladder Safety certification --- Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP) certification --- Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) certification, or equivalent --- Lenel Certified Design Architect (LCDA) certification --- GENETEC Security Center Omnicast advanced configuration and troubleshooting technical certification KBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include a 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work scheduleWe support career advancement through professional training and development.
