Senior Researcher for Food and Nutrition Assistance Program Research -Westat Insight, formerly Insight Policy Research, a dynamic research and evaluation organization, seeks applicants for the position of researcher with expertise in nutrition assistance programs and qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. We are a well-established firm, having provided nationally recognized research and evaluation services to federal, state, and private sector clients for over 20 years. Our focus is on issues affecting at-risk and vulnerable populations. For more information on the type of work we conduct and our corporate culture, please visit our website: - www.insightpolicyresearch.com.Position SummaryThe essential functions of this position include leading research project work, including leading teams in designing and implementing all phases of the research process; employing a variety of methodologies (e.g., qualitative and quantitative data collection, literature reviews, and analyses); managing project or task budgets; leading client communications on tasks or projects; presenting project work and results in client meetings and at conferences; leading the development of study reports and major project deliverables; strategizing, overseeing, and authoring portions of proposals for new projects; overseeing and coordinating project teams; and supervising earlier career staff. This is a full-time telework position, however, some travel for team meetings, project work, and conferences may be required. Employees who live within commuting distance have the option to work from the office.Education

Ph.D. in a social science or related field with 4 years related work experience in federal contracting and food and nutrition research/policyMaster's degree in a social science or related field with 7 years related work experience in federal contracting and food and nutrition research/policyBachelor's with 9 years related work experience in federal contracting and food and nutrition research/policyQualifications
Strong knowledge of federal nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP, WIC or those related to child nutrition Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperienced at leading research tasks, communicating effectively and constructively with teams and clients, and ensuring tasks/projects and deliverables are completed on time and meet or exceed clients expectationsExperience applying rigorous quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, analysis, and reportingExperience coordinating development of technical proposals and related materials for Federal or State agency clientsExperience leading teams on tasks/projects for Federal, State, non-profit, or foundation clients.
