SUMMARYThe Development Assistant is responsible for a variety of
tasks related to the operations of the Development Team and reports
to the Director of Systems for Development. The Development
Assistant is responsible for managing the tax acknowledgement
letters for all gifts, either through our contracted outsourcing
vendor or those completed in-house. The position is also
responsible for providing data capture support for the Frontline
Fundraisers on the Development Team and will work extensively with
our Raiser's Edge CRM. The ideal candidate will be highly
detail-oriented, organized and comfortable with a workload that
will shift fluidly between time-sensitive projects. This is a

national conservation landscape.RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

- Manage tax acknowledgement letters, including drafting letters
for in-house review and completion and coordinating with our
contracted vendor for outsourcing.
- Process and attach in Raiser's Edge via Papersave outsourced
tax acknowledgement letters.
- Process tribute cards for gifts that come in with a
dedication.
- Provide data capture support for the Development Team,
including tracking and recording deadlines, updates and Action
items in Raiser's Edge as they related to a key major funding
relationship.
- Work with the Frontline Fundraisers to collect updates and
perform regular data capture in Raiser's Edge related to
constituent information, cultivation, and stewardship
activities.
- Work closely with Research Manager to provide and document
research on prospects and new donors.
- Support Development Operations team members by providing back
up on projects during peak times and vacations, including but not
limited to online gift processing.
- Assist with Planned Giving initiatives, including data entry
and hard copy mailings.
- Assist with hard copy mailings as needed for the broader
Development Team.
- Additional projects related to the broader Development Team, as
assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of work experience (internships and volunteer
experience included), ideally in a nonprofit Development
department.
- Organized, detail-oriented and strong work ethic.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well
independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet
deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful
environment.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Experience working with Raiser's Edge and other Blackbaud
products, knowledge of environmental/conservation nonprofits, and
experience working directly with customers/donors.
- Passion and interest in the mission of The Conservation
Fund.
- Conservation experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS (if applicable)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a
computer. WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in an office setting.
- This position does require sporadically working long hours
and/or weekends.
- Estimated travel - 0%.COMPENSATION and BENEFITSThe salary range
for this position is $50,000 - $55,000, and the position is
eligible for opportunities to earn performance-based bonus
compensation. The Fund offers a highly competitive package of
