DRT is looking for you, a dynamic and motivated Software Lead to join our growing work at the Department of Commerce (DOC). You have strong systems development, system modernization, and technical leadership experience. In this hands-on position, you will lead the analysis of alternatives to identify a solution, then lead the architecting, designing, building, and delivery of a large scale, mission critical systems modernization. You will serve as the technical team lead running an agile scrum team, directing the work of the rest of the technical team. Travel is limited but may be required. Because of the critical nature of this role, you need to be able to attend onsite meetings in Washington D.C., although a hybrid work environment is possible. You also must have an active secret clearance. Project you will support:At the DOC, we are executing a major IT modernization in an Agile environment to address future demands by upgrading systems to the latest technical platforms; improving the security and scalability of current application; improving accessibility of data; developing advanced analytical tools and engineering models; and reengineering business processes and automating workflows. Fun stuff you will do on the job: Drive the analysis of the existing systems (software, hardware, overall infrastructure) and work in conjunction with DOC to document weaknesses, areas for improvement, desired future capabilities and prioritize what needs to be addressed in the alternatives. Drive the selection of innovative technologies and creation of alternatives based on these technologies, vetting with DOC along the way to create the final set of alternatives and our recommended alternative. Lead client meetings and technical discussions to support the analysis and alternative creation. Lead the architecting of the solution. Lead all aspects of software development (designing, coding, testing, debugging). Work with the business analysts, developers, testers and project manager to resolve issues and meet commitments. Set expectations and accountability of your team for successful delivery. Act as a servant-leader to your team to remove barriers, mitigate risks/issues. Lead the transition plan of how to migrate/transition from the current system to the new system. Effectively communicate technical challenges and corresponding potential solutions with DRT and DOC leadership.This is you: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least ten (10) or more years of software development experience, with at least five (5) years in web application design and development. Must have an active Secret clearance Experience with Service Oriented Architectures Experience in designing and building APIs Software development experience in .NET or similar technology stack. Experience in modernizing/migrating legacy systems Experience leading a team of analysts, developers, and testers Experience creating current state and future state architecture diagrams at both the conceptual and physical level Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology Excellent oral and written communication skillsYou will wow us even more if you have these skills: Previous experience with Azure Experience creating a DevOps Pipeline Experience in test automation solutions Experience with data warehouses More About DRTDRT Strategies, Inc.
