Cloud Engineer

Position Description:

The Cloud Engineerprovides expertise on the migration of the customer's environment and

systems to a secure cloud environment. The Cloud Engineer works closely with customer

stakeholders to develop a cloud strategy, develop and implement a cloud architecture, and lead

cultural change for cloud adoption. The Cloud Engineer provides expertise on cloud technologies,

tools, and best practices to meet availability, scalability, performance, and security requirements for

implementing the customer's systems in a cloud environment. The Cloud Engineer is responsible

for setting up front- and back-end platforms and developing an operational cloud based delivery

system. The Cloud Engineermust be able to adapt quickly and respond to new problems and

issues efficiently and effectively.

Primary responsibilities include

* Integrate new applications into cloud environment and transition existing applications

into virtualized/cloud environments.

* Develop and integrate solutions with various platforms and eliminate the need for

multiple interfaces to manage cloud environments.

* Work within a team of cloud engineers and other engineering teams supporting

applications and systems transition to new cloud platforms

* Conduct the development and enhancement of a system or component that will fully integrate other components from other systems.
* Ensure that the product or services will integrate seamlessly with current and future environments.
* Ensure that the Cloud solution or recommendation is in accordance with NIST guidance on Cloud Computing.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Candidate must have a minimum of ten years of experience in the IT field focusing on

Cloud engineering projects in secure DoD environments.

* Candidate must possess strong cloud engineering experience, including at least three

(3) years of experience in deploying enterprise applications in cloud platforms, preferably in

AWS.

* Shall possess expertise in large scale, high performance enterprise big data application

deployment and solution architecture on complex heterogeneous environment in AWS.

* Experience with automation/configuration management using industry standard tools.
* Strong knowledge with Web Services, API Gateways, and application integration

development and design.

* Understanding of Cloud Security Architecture and Shared Security Responsibility models
* Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
* Knowledge of containerization a plus.
* Knowledge of Agile software development practices and release management.
* Ability to learn fast, adapt to new technology, and keep current with industry certifications.
* Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a

Service, Infrastructure as Code, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service Cloud

delivery models and the current competitive landscape.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with

executive, technical staff, and non-technical staff.

Knowledge and Experience

BA/BS or equivalent years of experience

* Active Secret Clearance
* 2 years AWS
* Understanding of DoD, DISA cybersecurity requirements
* JRSS experience a plus, understanding of DISA CAP a plus
* 8570 Certification compliance required

Desired Experience DoD TOP SECRET/SSBI eligible DI2E Experience (DevSecOps) a plus AWS certifications a plus DISA Experience
