Job Description:

GridIron IT is seeking a Lead Database Developer in support of a federal program on a remote basis. Must hold US Citizenship/Green Card and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
The DB Developer/Manager will:

• Respond quickly and competently to new product requirements, creating agricultural, climatological and statistical models in python from data in a variety of formats (csv files, tiff files, netCDF files. GRIB and GRIB2 files, Oracle DB vector tables, OracleDB raster tables, SqlServer DB tables.others, etc.
• Maintain existing product production software using python GDAL NumPy and other libraries.
• Maintain a significant suite of data retrieval using protocols such as https, sftp, ftps, http, ftp and others as may arise.
• Create and maintain PL/SQL packages
• Perform mid-level maintenance on development and production instances of an Oracle Database (appx 7 TB).
• Design and maintain data schemas.
• Promote development schemas to production.
• Write and maintain meteorological and agricultural models.
• Write and maintain data retrieval programs.
• Write and maintain data loads. Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, computer engineering, or similar technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Oracle database DBA functions (e.g., impdp, expdp)
  • Advanced PL/SQL programming
  • Advanced Python programming
  • Advanced knowledge of data models
  • Linux command line utilities (e.g., curl, lftp, crontab)
  • GDAL command line utilities
  • GDAL python
  • Python packages such as GDAL NunPy, Panda.
