Job Description:
Summary You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the Military
Personnel Law Branch (JPL) of HQ US MARINE CORPS. Responsibilities
You will develop and implement approaches, strategies, protocols,
and philosophies for the successful execution of the Branch?s
administration. You will manage the receipt and examination of all
incoming misconduct packages to ensure each record contains the
required documents. You will manage the receipt of all incoming
board screening requests, working closely with sending agencies to
establish reasonable deadlines and coordinate with other screening
agencies to meet those deadlines. You will draft notice and comment
letters for officers whose promotions have been withheld or delayed
for the Promotions Officer-in-Charge (OIC) review. You will manage
the maintenance of all misconduct and promotion case files, which
include copies of various misconduct reports, attorney work
product, and Personally Identifiable Information. Requirements
Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must
demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or
equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal
service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting
paralegal research by examining and evaluating information
requested with reference to applicable statutes and regulations to
support administrative and federal litigation and applying Freedom
of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) regulations.
