Join our team and shape the future of artificially intelligent systems. - Job Description - This position is perfect for an individual who enjoys solving the most complex problems across a portfolio of diverse domains and modalities. An ideal candidate is expected to leverage classical autonomous techniques, algorithms, and theory to supplement machine learning based solutions. This would allow for acceleration of training cycles, sim to real-world fidelity, and elevate AI technologies within the autonomous systems topology allowing it to aptly drive a value-add solution space. These solutions are expected to be integrated into real-world problems with near-term program impacts and rewards. Heron Systems, a Shield AI company, is looking to continue to -push the envelope by teaming traditional autonomous systems algorithms and deep reinforcement learning-based solutions to create an unmatched capability and speed to deployment technology base. Required qualifications:

  • BS/MS or greater in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or similar degree, or equivalent practical experience -
  • Strong mathematical background in both linear/nonlinear control theory and autonomous systems technologies/algorithms -
  • Deep understanding of robotics technologies related to sensing, estimation, path planning, and data fusion. -
  • Ability to understand, derive, and implement motion models and accompanying controllers for trajectory generation and tracking. -
  • Strong ability to develop, benchmark, debug, and deploy software based algorithms -
  • 8-10+ years of experience in applied R&D -
  • Experience working projects with 10+ contributors -

  • Comfortability within Unix environments -
