Job Summary:

The Senior Benefits Specialist is the first point of contact regarding benefits enrollment and insurance related questions. The Senior Benefits Specialist maintains the benefits module in Workday, Surescripts' Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and associated reporting activities. The Senior Benefits Specialist maintains the benefits content of Connect, Surescripts intranet site, administers leave of absences, reconciles vendor invoices, and other requirements as needed. The Senior Benefits Specialist ensures company compliance with federal and state laws and other regulatory matters. They also assist with all communication and implementation of health and wellbeing education initiatives.

Responsibilities:

* Benefits Representation
* Act as employee advocate in troubleshooting benefit issues, responds to benefits email inquiries, and provides day-to-day administration of all Surescripts company benefit programs such as education reimbursements.


* Lead 401(k) administration, non-discrimination testing, annual plan audit, and annual 401(k) true-up.


* Lead health and welfare benefit audits to completion with timely thoroughness.


* Reconcile monthly benefit vendor invoices to Workday benefit data.




* Human Resources Information System & Reporting
* Assist the Benefits Manager with the Annual Benefit Open Enrollment pre- and post-enrollment activities.


* Maintain the Workday Benefits module by creating our annual open enrollment event, verifying and approving events such as qualified life events, and other systems related fundamentals.


* Create ad hoc Workday reports and supports reporting requirements needed for various vendor requests, open enrollment, or various projects.


* Work closely with HRIS and payroll to ensure employees are enrolled correctly and deductions are correctly deducted




* SharePoint site management
* Maintain the Surescripts SharePoint Health & Wellbeing intranet site. This includes updates to content ensuring relevancy in educating employees on H&W benefit offerings through webinars, content, vendor materials, Surescripts SPDs, and other regulatory postings.




* Absence Management
* Lead the administration of the Company's time off and leave of absence programs including FMLA, STD, LTD, etc. through our third-party Absence Management Administrator. Coordinates with Payroll semi-monthly to ensure all employee leaves are correctly reported, recorded, and paid through payroll.




* Recognition
* Support the employee recognition programs by providing administrative support in our recognition system.


* Manage the recognition budget, including Employee Events, approving anniversary gifts, and managing the relationship with our vendor.




* Charitable Giving
* Support the upkeep and management of the Surescripts charitable giving website.


* Verify and process monthly employer donations by leading Charitable Giving Charter meetings and the design and recommendation of charitable giving campaigns.




* Regulatory and Compliance
* Run monthly Sanction Checks on our current workforce and act as the system administrator to the Sanction Checks vendor.


* Lead the Surescripts Employee Handbook annual review and update. Partner with Legal to ensure compliance with various state laws.


* Lead the Surescripts Worker's Compensation (WC) claims processing. Work with WC insurance carrier and HRBP on work accommodations, if needed.


* Verify and process monthly employer donations by leading Charitable Giving Charter meetings and the design and recommendation of charitable giving campaigns.




* Other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


* Minimum 5 years of relevant, progressive experience in employee benefits


* Strong proficiency in using Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and data transmission files


* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint



Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Workday and Workday Benefits


* Experience in HR analytics


* Organizational and time management skills


* Strong research and analytical skills
