Summary You will serve as a SUPV SECURITY SPECIALIST (INSIDER THREAT) within the DUSN INTELLIGENCE & SECURITY, INSIDER THREAT BRANCH. Responsibilities You will make recommendations to leadership Insider Threat program management and ensure compliance with federal statutes, standards, policies and procedures. You will develop funding guidance and prepare detailed budget proposals in support of all Insider Threat planning and program activities. You will support Insider Threat operations to identify behavior indicative of a potential threat using a variety of detection and user activity monitoring techniques. You will plan initiatives that improve the overall organizational Insider Threat posture and utilize strategic planning tools and techniques to track initiative effectiveness. You will prepare and deliver briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with leadership to ensure cooperation among the organization. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities and evaluate performance, counsel and instruct employees on work and administrative matters. You will advise senior leadership regarding the planning and executing Insider Threat policies, identify program shortfalls and recommend long range goals needed to meet the mission of the organization. You will support formal investigations and/or inquiries to resolve Insider Threat matters and/or employee misconduct or violations of law. You will prepare reports for long and short range planning strategy and make recommendations for acquisition in business practices through enhanced IT security initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a variety of insider threat policies and/or procedures (e.g., personnel security, property security, and information security) to security program objectives; AND ensuring performance meets security program objectives (e.g., instructing, advising, counseling and evaluating). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
