Your Mission ...is to demonstrate your modeling & simulation (M&S) expertise working at the intersection of the Technology Group and Business Development extending Improbable technologies and offerings to meet customers' business/technical objectives. Your role is centered around working with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to design solutions that deliver defensible, interpretable content to transform military decision-making practices through the use of data, modeling, and simulation. As part of the Technology Group, you will perform as a lead engineer to Business Development conducting Customer/Partner technical engagements to understand needs / gaps / opportunities and develop innovative solutions extending our platform and capabilities. It will require a fundamental understanding of the underlying data and scientific models combined with excellent customer engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively and drive alignment across a wide range of functions and stakeholders. Areas for Impact

  • Lead solution development efforts that leverage Improbable technologies and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product, software engineering, and applied modeling teams to develop relevant solutions, architectures, and implementation plans for a range of programs including quick-turn pilots to large and highly complex programs..
  • Conduct technical engagements with potential Customers and Partners to understand their needs, requirements, and opportunities for capability advancements
  • Own technical aspects of business opportunity captures to include customer and partner engagements, opportunity qualifications, technical contributions to proposals (RFIs, RFPs, Whitepapers), product demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and artifacts.
  • Advocate for customers' and partners' business drivers, technology needs, and feedback to inform product strategy. Share technical due diligence of opportunities with the BD team to help prioritize and shape market opportunities consistent with the product strategy.
  • Develop and maintain expertise of Improbable technologies and capabilities.We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following
    • You have a scientific/technical background (e.g., B.S or M.S. (preferred) in Math, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science) and 10+ years of experience working with computer modeling and simulation in an applied setting with Defense and/or Intelligence Community in areas such as analytical wargaming, operational planning, or decision support.
    • You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and are able to design complex solutions under project, technology, and scientific constraints.
    • You have experience developing cloud-native solutions deployed on private, public, and/or hybrid clouds (e.g., AWS Public, AWS GovCloud, Azure, GCP, etc.). --- You have an ability to translate ambiguous customer goals into well-defined data, modeling and software/system requirements.
    • You have experience working with data (preferably including GIS data) and models (preferably agent-based models).
    • You are an excellent communicator with a track record of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • You have strong technical writing skills and direct experience developing technical proposals, whitepapers, briefs and/or other documentation.
