Data Scientist - Cyber Threat Analysis

Qualified candidate will become part of Peraton's Department of
State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program
providing leading cyber and technology security experience to
enable innovative, effective and secure business processes.
Peraton's DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data
analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and
administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology
Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber
infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and
mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks
and threats. Those supporting Peraton's DSCM program strive to
leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to
real-world cybersecurity challenges.
The Data Scientist role will be located in Rosslyn, VA.
Position Description:The Data Scientist will support the Cyber
Threat and Analysis Division (CTAD) operations through the
innovative use of data analysis techniques and machine learning
across the Directorate.
- Create, maintain, and refine data models and algorithms used
across the Directorate
- Improve visibility and focus of large data sets to improve
- Identify new security monitoring use cases based on available
- Implement and support user and threat behavior analytics
- Create cyber threat intelligence conclusions by using data
science and analysis (e.g. outlier detection, gap analysis,
normalization, machine learning, automated models, natural language
processing, etc.) techniquesBasic Qualifications- To be considered
for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills,
and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience
required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in
lieu of degree.
Active Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Highly motivated with a strong passion for problem solving,
innovation and the ability to provide recommend analytics solutions
to detect anomalous activity.
- Proven working experience as a data scientist or analyst.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design
development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Experience writing scripts using Python or similar
- Possess CND, CySA+, GSEC, Security+ CE, or similar

Colorado Salary Maximum: $176,600
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this
position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation
package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses,
