required by law **ARC is searching for a Senior Omnichannel
Strategist who will engage in efforts to understand our industry so
that ARC can deliver omnichannel solutions, tools, data and systems
that provide business value and exceed customer expectations. In
this role you will investigate customer business needs, airline
distribution, distribution technology and other areas affecting
omnichannel distribution/settlement and engage with customers and
industry stakeholders to understand their strategic direction and
functional business needs. You will also work with settlement and
omnichannel product teams to ensure product strategic goals and
objectives are met, and the products deliver the desired business
value.What You'll Get to Do:
- Work directly with customers, airlines, travel agencies,
corporate travel buyers, and other distribution channel
stakeholders to understand emerging trends, strategies, short- and
long-term business models and functional needs. Provide input and
intelligence to the efforts of the settlement and omnichannel
product teams to build customer validated, forward looking
functional roadmaps focused on ARC customer/revenue retention and
growth. Be mindful of data opportunities and engage with the Global
Data product team as needed.
- Cultivate, manage, and maintain strong relationships with GDSs,
content aggregators, omnichannel technology providers, industry
organizations (A4A, ATPCO, IATA), and other relevant stakeholders
with a goal of increasing collaboration. Gather competitive
intelligence focused on airline retailing, settlement, and other
aspects of distribution, as well as data, and share that
information with the appropriate ARC teams. Use own industry
knowledge, network, and expertise to understand changes within the
industry and potential ARC impacts to strengthen ARC's position,
credibility, and influence. Provide insights and recommendations on
best practices.
- Lead and/or support working groups and forums designed to guide
the direction of omnichannel distribution and settlement
initiatives. Provide leadership and guidance within the group to
ensure progress. Schedule, plan, and organize meetings and
communications. Work cross-functionally to implement new processes
and procedures. Actively participate in industry-led working groups
to ensure ARC's viewpoints are clearly represented.
- Serve as the liaison for new system providers, including GDSs
and content aggregators, wishing to conduct business with ARC.
Plans, organizes, and leads all contract negotiations and
on-boarding activities. You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field;
MBA preferred
- 10+ years experience in the travel industry with detailed GDS
and/or TMC knowledge preferred
- Expert understanding of how airlines distribute their products
and services, both direct and indirect, including but not limited
to IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC)
- Expert understanding of the role airlines, travel agencies, and
technology providers play in distribution and the expectations of
their customers
- Strong leadership and critical thinking skills combined with
the ability to persuade
- Highly motivated to find solutions to complex industry problems
and bring others along. Ability to network effectively with
counterparts throughout the industry.
- Exceptional analytical, planning, facilitation, documentation,
and communication skills
