YOUR POSITION WITH TNC - The Resilient Watersheds Program Coordinator contributes to the analysis and development of conservation strategies in support of The Nature Conservancy's global Resilient Watersheds (RW) strategy under the Provide Food and Water Sustainably Priority. is a member of the Resilient Watersheds strategy under The Nature Conservancy's Provide Food and Water Sustainably Priority. This position reports to the Associate Director, Resilient Watersheds and coordinates functional activities, conducts research, and supports projects to advance the program's goals. The Resilient Watersheds strategy aims to mainstream nature-based solutions in the water sector to improve climate resilience, biodiversity, water security and advance community development outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - The Coordinator will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the program by providing a combination of technical and operations support to the Resilient Watersheds strategy, including associated regional and field programs. They will be responsible for,Planning and executing special events, including coordinating our presence at international fora like World Water Week, World Water Forum, CBD COP, etc. and managing conservation planning retreats, workshops, and trainingsSupporting Resilient Watershed Leadership in preparing and managing budgets. Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking the program's contracts, revenue, and grants, including preparing reports and forecasts. The Coordinator will work with operations staff, as needed.Under direction, develops contracts for select vendors and sub-grantees, including for the Nature for Water Facility.Under direction, support development of private and public grant applications. The Coordinator will work with development and external affairs staff, as needed.Updating the strategy's assets including websites, graphics, and factsheets, and responding to inquiries about the program. - Work with communications and development staff, as needed.Reporting the strategy's outcomes and intermediate results in the Conservation Management Hub, TNC's online system for program tracking and management. Will conduct quality assurance, and support field and regional teams to set up projects and report their outcomes in the Hub, including the Nature for Water Technical Assistance Facility.Conducting research and managing discrete projects in the strategy's portfolioImplementing processes and practices to improve effectivenessCommunicating and/or distributing information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE - Provides strategic analysis in support of conservation agenda for a key strategy areaFinancial responsibility includes purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors and sub-grantees, and assisting with budget preparationUnder direction, support development of private and public grant applicationsUnder direction, develops contracts for vendors and sub-grantees; manages contracts and paymentsCoordinates grant reportingCoordinate or project manage multiple projects with multinational teams, working within a defined timeline and budgetOrganizes in-person and virtual events like workshops, trainings, and team retreats, often across time zones.Maintain program assets including websites, graphics, and factsheetsResponds to inquiries about the programAct independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgment based on analysis and experience, referring difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisorDemonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential informationPerform non-routine analysis, research and follow-throughIncorporates cross disciplinary knowledge to support program objectives.Requires willingness and ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Policy, Resource Management or related field and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.Experience supporting complex projects and strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment. - - - - - -Analytical and project management experience, including experience generating reports and interpreting data.Experience managing project work, managing diverse activities, and adhering to deadlines.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detailSelf-starter with ability to generate work plans with limited support in line with the overall conservation strategies.Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities and solving problems.Experience contributing to business plans or major strategy assessments.Fluency in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, French) appreciated.Willingness to learn and develop expertise in new conservation strategies, economic drivers, management tools, and global affairs.Strong team player who can build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization and with partners.Event management experience.Demonstrated interest in conservation, water resource management, environmental issues.Experience working across teams and communicating with different managerial levels.Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
