We are looking for a strong Systems Engineering and Operations
Leader to contribute to the growth of our organization within
Amazon Web Services.
A successful Manager in the AWS DBS org will do much more than
lead teams of Systems Engineers in writing code, launching new
features, and triaging problems. We hold high standards for our

This role could in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia,
where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million
square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S.
citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
This position can be based in Arlington, VA, Herndon, VA or
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and
- 7+ years building and operating large-scale software
- 5+ years of experience with at least 1 year in a Software
Development Manager role managing managers.
- 5+ years of experience managing systems development and/or
support efforts in an agile environment
- 2+ years of experience in preparing quality metrics and
effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality
- Able to work in a diverse team
- Success delivering products/services in a high-growth
environment, exhibiting strong ability to identify and solve
ambiguous customer-focused problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully
with teams across the organization
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard
data and metrics to back up assumptions and perceptions
- Experience with Analytics or Database technologies
- High attention to detail with proven ability to juggle
multiple, conflicting priorities simultaneously and make things
happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proven skills designing and developing simple solutions to
