CloudFront has become a priority for our customers across almost every industry. Ultimately, CloudFront is about solving business problems - either to increase revenue by using the data to create new digital services, or to increase efficiency by using the data to streamline operations and removing costs from operations. Customers are focused on solving business challenges, not simply connecting data and media, so they look to AWS to provide solutions to those problems.

This role is focused on our AWS EDGE Services including AWS Cloudfront, Shield, WAF and Lambda at the Edge. As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will focus on finding new markets for our services, working to build repeatable solutions for our sales team to use to delight customers and to planning for future services and solutions. In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

Contributing to building the Go-To-Market Plan

Helping define the market segments, customers, and industries

Building a strategic business development plan for the target markets and ensure it is well aligned across AWS

Executing the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.)

Coordinating the Incubation and Launch of New Services

Being a part of the core team that works with the initial customers to ensure we have strong references at launch

Driving a plan to ensure sales and partner readiness

Understanding the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings

  • 5+ years of cloud, technical or digital business development experience
  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • Presentation, sales, and negotiation skills
  • Experience in both Public and Commercial Sector
  • An understanding of key Content Delivery and/or Edge technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the C level
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results
  • Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team
  • Experience in working with customers - including negotiations, opportunity management and relationship building
  • Ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
  • Meticulous attention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar
  • Proven ability to prospect, recruit, and manage executive level relationships
  • Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
  • Understanding of cloud technologies
  • Experience building Go-To-Market plans that scale across an organization
  • Experience with sales enablement activities

This position can be remote, but candidates must be based near an AWS office location with a preference for Arlington, VA.
