You are:

A NISP ISSM who is an information systems security manager primarily responsible for advising AFS leadership and project teams on the NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS connection approval process (CAP). You have a working knowledge of physical, personnel, industrial, and information security (system functions, cybersecurity policies, and technical cybersecurity protection measures).

The work:

  • Advise and assist AFS project teams in proper handling and operation of government sensitive information architectures to include handling, storing, transmitting or transferring, assessing, authorizing and accrediting information systems

  • Advise project teams on classified information handling and information systems requirements pursuant to the national industrial security program (NISP)

  • Work with the AFS security operations director and advise the AFS Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on managing and maintaining information systems in accordance with the NISP operating manual (NISPOM) and other applicable federal directives and law

Here's what you need:

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • 5 years active involvement in information systems management and accreditation activities within the national industrial security program (NISP), including detailed knowledge of the NIST risk management framework as well as federal IS assessment and auditing standards

  • Strong understanding of federal government requirements for handling, processing, and storing of information

  • Knowledge of information security architecture and engineering principles across multiple security domains (network, data, cloud, application, system security, etc.)

  • Written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams

  • Ability to work independently or manage a small team and/or work effort to determine methods and procedures that creates solutions for complex problems and furthers strategic objectives set by senior management

Bonus points if you have:

  • Previous experience as an information systems security manager (ISSM) for a cleared defense contractor, to include advanced knowledge of A&A processes and tools such as eMASS, DISA STIGs and SCAP tools

  • Information security certifications at a management level (i.e., CISSP, ISSAP, CAP, CASP+, CISM or ISSMP, etc.) demonstrating proficiency in risk management, security assessments, and government RMF/accreditation

  • Project/program management credentials, experience, and/or training

  • Experience interacting regularly with client and company leadership
