SUMMARY: Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance use treatment facility in Arlington, VA is looking for a full-time Licensed Clinical Supervisor to provide supervision of counseling staff and clinical interns in providing case management and counseling services. Responsible for consistent maintenance of chart documentation in accordance with agency, Virginia licensure and CARF standards too. This position is a full-time, salaried, M-F 9am-6pm position with full benefits. MUST BE LICENSED IN VIRGINIA AS AN LCSW or LPC.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for supervision assigned counseling staff and clinical internsProvide regular individual and group supervision for counseling staff and interns as appropriateAssure adherence to clinical, contractual and licensure standards/regulations through appropriate supervisionParticipate in regular client staffing with multidisciplinary team as appropriateProvide supervision for counseling interns from area colleges and training programsEvaluate, coach, and provide corrective action plans to assure counseling staff and clinical interns meet job performance standards and reviews all disciplinary action with Program Director/Clinical Director prior to institutingConduct regular performance evaluations as appropriateComplete Internship evaluations/progress as required by the institutionResponsible for interfacing with Case Managers, Probation and Parole Officers, Social Services workers, and other referral sources to assure transfer of accurate and timely clinical information as neededAssure that counseling staff completes all documentation such as: Change of Status Reports, Continuing Care Plans, Staffing Reports, Discharge Summary and that these are forwarded in a timely manner to referralsMaintain ethical standards and continued professional growth, includinga. Abide by Program and PHMA policy and procedures. Oversees staff understanding and compliance.b. Ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintainedc. Promotes, in public and private contacts, the quality standards and ethical practices of PHMA staff.d. Continue professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and staff in-service trainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staffe. Maintain current licensure/certification including CES, CPR and First Aidf. Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients.g. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree in Human Services or related field,Licensed by the Virginia Board of Counseling, or the Board of Social Work3 years employment experience in a substance abuse program working with multidisciplinary teams.Certification as addiction counselor a plusKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Knowledge of various substance abuse treatment modalities; knowledge of issues collateral to substance abuse (AIDS, Dual Diagnosis); ability to train and supervise staff, and knowledgeable about Virginia licensure and Human Rights requirements.Prior management experience essential; demonstrated ability to perform under pressureStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsFamiliarity with the 12-step approachExperience working with diverse populationExperience working in hospital or medical settingsExperience working with commercial insurance carriersAbility to prepare and maintain required documentationAbility to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentialityPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
