Summary You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Community Relations Branch of the HQ US MARINE CORPS. Responsibilities You will plan and execute Marine Corps commemorative activities to highlight the service and sacrifice of Marines and to highlight their milestones and achievements. You will plan and execute the Marine Corps participation in Secretary of Defense sponsored programs on a semi-annual basis. You will ensure the Marine Corps is adequately represented during event planning and execution and the Marine Corps General Officers are incorporated into the program?s schedule of events where appropriate. You will annually review Community Relations Program to ensure alignment with the Commandment of the Marine Corp?s (CMC) strategic goals and objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, and executing the organization's participation in community outreach programs and events. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
