OVERVIEW: phia, LLC is pursuing a Technical Writer/Editor with some cybersecurity or IT professional writing experience to work with a highly technical team, supporting the front line of security protecting the federal and civilian government. This position is located in Arlington, VA with frequent/full remote options during the pandemic. DUTIES: + Gather necessary information from Program personnel, other DHS employees, and applicable policy, regulations, and best practices to support the Government in developing, writing, formatting, and editing technical and non-technical information for reports, manuals, procedures, processes, briefs, and other forms of documentation. + Provide technical and editorial document review and written feedback and expert opinion on draft cyber/infrastructure security information documents. + Draft, coordinate, implement and maintain updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to carry out detailed customer functions. + Using standard operating procedures (SOPs), provide professional technical writing and editing services on materials such as informational products, presentations, press releases, reports, etc., while complying with DHS style guides and quality control measures. + Provide authoring and full-scale editing services for SOPs, reports, slick sheets, presentations, social media messaging, and other materials as requested. + Research and analyze complex technical material and break it down into a concise, compelling copy that engages the reader. + Develop document management processes & document libraries. + Execute multiple tasks simultaneously to deliver high quality products on time, every time. + Coordinate stakeholder input, fact-check, and integration of written text and graphic design work as necessary. + Support the implementation, publishing, and distribution of website and content administration and stakeholder communications, to include public-facing website, and social media. + Ensure consistency of messaging and updates across all printed materials and online content. + Consult and advise on the development of innovative ideas, concepts, solutions, and materials for print, web, and interactive media using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.) on both PC and Mac. + Transform stakeholders ideas into engaging visuals, products, and graphics to fully communicate campaigns and projects while adhering to brand guidelines and ensuring proper messaging is being executed in all products (web and print). + Improve existing web pages and create new web page content to communicate the customer's messages and themes. + Create and oversee preparation of illustrative materials, including: iconography, infographics, drawings, and diagrams. + Prepare, design and publish documents and media that are distributed to a large government, national and international user-base. + Support the development of targeted and strategic communications collateral (e.g., Annual Reports, monthly operational newsletters). + Respond to partners and constituents in support of operations. + Contribute to initiatives for collecting, collaborating, and sharing data and information across the cybersecurity community to enhance the capacity and capabilities of partners and constituents. + Support the development of a process for collecting, aggregating, analyzing, and reporting on customer feedback. Requirements KEY REQUIREMENTS: + Bachelors Degree and 5-9 years of experience required. + Active TS Clearance with ability to obtain a DHS background investigation (EOD). + Cyber security/IT communications writing experience. + Proficient with office productivity and collaborative tools (MS Office, SharePoint, MS Teams, Jira, Confluence, Wikis, Visio etc.) + Detail-oriented. + Experience with strategic communications for government clients. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Bachelors Degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing, computer science, Graphic Design, Web Design or related field. + Experience with online publications, graphics design and/or creating technical process diagrams. + Knowledge of the production process. + Experience designing Microsoft SharePoint workflows and libraries. + Experience with developing Microsoft Teams spaces. + Experience in successfully developing documentation for process mapping and process implementation. + Familiarity with a variety of internal and external communications vehicles, practices and technologies, including print, electronic, video and social media. + Experience with Adobe creative Suite (creating PDFs and Forms). + Department of Homeland Security experience desired. + Familiarity with the CISA.
