Constellis is headquartered just outside of Washington, D.C. in Herndon, VA.Position OverviewStaff armed security posts and provide security for the personnel and property of, and visitors to, assigned US Government Property. May also work in a Control Center.ResponsibilitiesRegular, in-person attendance is required Protect personnel and property in a professional mannerMeet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitorsEffectively and efficiently screen and process visitorsIdentify, report, delay, or detain persons who violate rules and regulationsConduct internal and external roving foot patrolsComplete all reports and paperwork as requiredTraffic controlAbility to maintain excellent detection rate on x ray machineDetect and respond to alarms and emergenciesSecure entrances and exits during emergenciesControl keys and lock combinationsCommunicate and remain accessible via two way radio or company issued cellular phoneUnderstand and comply with all requirements defined within company documents to include: Post and General Orders, plans, policies, and proceduresObserve and report all offenses/incidentsProvide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessaryMust be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniformMaintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidanceMaintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualificationsEnsure safety requirements compliance and safe work practicesSupport safety programs and participate in Quality and Process Improvement programsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsARMED experience onlyMust be 21 years or olderA US citizen with a social security card3 years of ARMED security experience within the past five years; [OR] An Associate's Degree in a related field and at least one year of ARMED experience; [OR]3 years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience; [OR]Successful completion of a state certified Police Officer's Standard Training (POST) course; [OR]Any reasonable combination of the above within last 5 years and reasonable combination of experience, school, military, or training (equivalent to 3 years)Must possess, or able to obtain, a state firearms permit and guard cardMust possess a valid, unrestricted automobile driver's licenseMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to fluently read, write, and speak EnglishMust be capable of passing a background check, medical and psychological evaluation, drug test, and weapons qualificationWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs.
