Program Manager, Field Partnerships

POSITION SUMMARY

Conservation International is seeking a Program Manager to provide hands-on project management and coordination to support the execution of projects and processes for field partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to support a coordinated organization-wide effort to capture CI's footprint and impact for work in non-CI field office countries. CI will be extending an initial one-year internal secondment for a current staff person interested in expanding their scope and contributing to this new initiative.

The successful candidate will leverage a blended skillset and their institutional and programmatic knowledge to support CI's Senior Vice President (SVP) of Field Partnerships in developing and managing a dynamic portfolio for this new initiative. The Program Manager will support a coordinated effort to identify, track, and monitor CI's presence and impact outside of our traditional country program structure, namely through policy engagement, research, grant-making, and communications. The Program Manager will engage with the SVP and other CI stakeholders to ensure a one CI approach that leverages institutional investments to ensure we are making the most significant contributions to our Southern Cross strategy.

The position requires an individual who is highly organized with strong attention to detail and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural adaptability, and a proven ability to collaborate and align various stakeholders. The qualified candidate will bring experience in data management with skill and passion for communicating data and messages in a compelling, accessible manner for multi-stakeholder use.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Catalog, manage, and visually represent CI's global engagement and impact outside the "country program" structure for internal and external use
  • Partner with the SVP to support collaboration with existing teams and efforts underway to strengthen CI's metric tracking systems, project design, delivery and monitoring, and environmental and social safeguard systems.
  • Support the development of a decision-making management framework for CI's engagement outside traditional country programs, including for partnering, research, implementation, policy work, grantmaking, and communications
  • Ensure high-quality information and data management including collection, tagging, monitoring, and evaluating analytics and reporting for key projects and tasks
  • Serve as project manager for select new or existing standing programs or processes
  • Assist in the development and improvement of existing or new policies and processes, including training and supporting tools and guidelines
  • Research, draft, and manage key communication materials including reports, emails, and presentations
  • Organize and manage meetings and events, preparing and setting agendas, communicating key points, and facilitating for maximum participation and effectiveness
  • Act as a hub for information and communication by connecting day-to-day activities for the Field Partnership function, preparing executive updates for various stakeholders Support program fundraising efforts from individuals, foundations, government, and corporate sources
  • Support budgeting and contracting needs as assigned
  • Perform related duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • CI will be extending this opportunity as an initial one-year full-time internal transfer for a current staff person interested in expanding their scope and contributing to this new initiative.
  • This position can be completed from any CI office and all interested staff are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to work alternative hours to meet, consult and advise staff in multiple time zones. Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4- 6 years or more related work experience or equivalent combination of degree and work experience
  • Experience in managing data-driven projects and programs, including mapping, tagging, cataloging, and visual presentation for multi-stakeholder use
  • Highly organized and self-directed, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and an understanding of whether and when to escalate issues to the SVP
  • Experience in solving issues through analysis and critical thinking with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience using project management techniques and tools
  • Excellent and persuasive oral and written communication skills
  • Culturally adaptive with the ability to work across diverse groups of individuals
  • Ability to influence without formal authority and capable of managing conflict and conflicting views
  • Ability to successfully navigate and leverage collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English is required
  • Fluency in a second CI business language preferred
