Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented public
procurement lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other
Amazon businesses selling to public sector customers in Latin
America. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry
providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute
capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.
This Corporate Counsel will primarily support AWS's public sector
sales team in Latin America, negotiating, drafting and advising a
wide range of technology licensing agreements with public and
private-sector customers, systems integrators, and
resellers/distributors. Typical transactions range from standard
contracts to complex, high-dollar-value strategic enterprise
agreements, framework agreements, and responses to requests for
proposals and tenders. In addition, the role includes developing
and implementing internal policies and training programs relating
to public procurement compliance in Latin America.
In this role, you will work directly with the business,
providing day-to-day advice for senior executives and other
business members on government contracting issues, resolving
queries that arise in existing relationships, and handling
pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. The successful
candidate will be proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoy being
challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, and
demonstrate sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations.
Compensation will be based on experience and includes equity
- J.D. and admitted to at least one state bar.
- 5+ years of public sector focused transactional and technology
licensing legal experience.
- Deep substantive knowledge of local and national government
procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations
in Latin America.
- Experience engaging with government contracting officials,
system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers in Latin
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English, written and

- In-house experience at a technology company or in a private
