For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS's biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS's strategic mission. GDIT's O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). The successful candidate will lead, plan, coordinate, and execute special projects implementations, including security, integration, configuration, and testing; manage and document system configurations; oversee project and systems transitions into O&M; and create and maintain technical documentation to ensure efficient project planning and execution. Under the guidance of the Program's technical director and special projects team manager, our Engineering & Special Projects/Task Leads are responsible for the overall management of all assigned projects, ensure that project technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner, and perform enterprise-wide horizontal integration and planning (e.g., for interfaces to other functional systems), including: development of systems requirements and systems phasing plans; business application consultation; problem tracking/management; and preparation and presentation of project, engineering, and technical briefs and other artifacts to the client.Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Oversees implementations of highly complex infrastructure, operating systems, application software, and/or system management toolsProvides solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problemsLeads and/or contributes to the completion of other technical projects or tasksSupports development of solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problemsProvides engineering support across the full-life cyle of critical and highly complex mission systemsPrepares and maintains a wide range of documentation for processes and procedures related to projectsMaintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processesMay review the work of, provide guidance to, and/or coach less-experienced professionalsRequired Skills /Qualifications:U.S. citizenshipDHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final SuitabilityBS and 8+ years of experience (or equivalent)Desired Skills /Qualifications:15+ years of relevant experience5+ years of directly relevant experience in IT project management or leading IT project/task effortsMaster's degree in computer or systems engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of studyExperience with large scale, enterprise IT O&M, technologies, and programsExperience in AWS GovCloudCertifications: PMP, ITIL v3/v4, and/or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect #GDITPRIORITYScheduled Weekly Hours:40Travel Required:NoneTelecommuting Options:Some Telecommuting AllowedWork Location:USA VA ArlingtonAdditional Work Locations:We are GDIT.
