The National Security Group of SAIC is actively seeking a
Principal Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI to support the DoD
and work with a diverse team of analysts, linguists, cultural
experts, and operations officers, focused on creating and
recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the
The successful candidate will be responsible for all Systems
Engineering activities related to Information Technology or
Engineering including: concept of operations formulation,
requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system
architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data
architectures, validation and verification, systems integration,
system op. performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis
estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis
Responsible for supporting a variety of networks & systems in a
mission-critical enterprise environment. Must have excellent
communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small
team, without a constant management presence. Works in a team
of various government, subcontractor, and SAIC personnel.
This engineer will primarily deal with project-type work.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and
seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years
or more experience.
Security+ or CISSP certification on day one.
Working Knowledge of TCP/IP, network infrastructure, and
networked appliances, to include administrative access and
configuration experience. MUST be fully conversant in the OSI
Advanced knowledge of Cisco Hyperflex
Advanced Knowledge of VMWare: 6.5, 7, Horizon, ESXi,
Advanced Knowledge of VMWare Horizon
Experience with Windows Server Administration
Experience with Digital Certificates (ex. PKIs)
Ability to troubleshoot systems issues in real time, without
causing additional downtime
Knowledge of printers, networked print queues, and basic
Knowledge of rules and procedures for handling government
classified and proprietary information, and experience working
within a secure facility.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, including
the ability to defuse situations, and to deal with individuals who
might not fully understand the technology
Desired Education, Certifications, Skills, Expertise, Years of
Knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems.
Knowledge of VPN technology and implementation.
Working knowledge of popular, legacy, and new social media, blog
sites, and mobile applications.
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance (PR within 6 years)
