Join us at ToTH Montessori (http://toddlersonthehill.org), a small, private Montessori program for children age 16 months to 6 years old in Washington, DC. We are seeking a Toddler Montessori guide, with training at the toddler or primary level accepted. IMC, AMI, and AMS teachers are welcome to apply, however the teacher training center you attended must itself be accredited by MACTE. We prefer someone who is committed to authentic Montessori and can thrive among peers who work to bring out the best in one another, as well as in the children. You will be supported by two Montessori-trained assistants each day in a class with 12 toddlers, and by a leadership team that knows what it takes to run a world-class Montessori program. ToTH Montessori was founded in 2012 by a group of Capitol Hill parents in Washington DC, and holds a DC Child Development Facility license from the Office of the State Superintendent (OSSE). The position will start July 30, 2018. Ideal candidates should possess: 4 year college degree, with top candidates having a degree in early childhood development or a related field creativity, drive, and ability, to lead and manage your own classroom confidence and ability to communicate effectively with parents commitment to fostering community and to the highest values of early childhood experiences for not only the children, but their families experience with parent education training and enjoyment leading sessions for parents top candidates will have at least 5 years work experience with children in a Montessori setting while not a requirement, top candidates would have toddler credential while not a requirement, top candidates would have proficiency/fluency in a second language Competitive compensation commensurate with: education and experience interest in making a multi-year commitment that warrants significant investments by ToTH such as a professional development allowance, health insurance and 401K contributions, and a competitive salary that includes extensive vacation time.
