Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice
(DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be
successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public

of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the
Commonwealth. DJJ is hiring an ADA Accessibility Program
Coordinator . This role serves as a key member of the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) Team and works collaboratively with the
Information Technology (IT) Team and other internal stakeholders.
This position supports the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in
advancing digital accessibility across the organization. The
coordinator helps ensure that DJJ’s digital content, online
platforms, procurement processes, and technology solutions are
accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.
Through cross-departmental partnership, the role promotes
compliance with accessibility standards and fosters an inclusive
digital environment. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge
of WCAG guidelines, ADA, Section 508, and other accessibility
standards and laws. Considerable knowledge, skills, abilities and
competency in developing and implementing content strategies,
including content audits, content governance, copywriting, and
search engine optimization (SEO). Skilled in website analytics and
analysis, as well as accessibility testing and compliance to ensure
digital content meets established accessibility standards.
Considerable knowledge, skills, and experience in Project
management Considerable knowledge, skills, and experience in PDF
and Microsoft Office remediation techniques. Some knowledge,
skills, and experience with assistive technologies such as screen
readers (JAWS and Voiceover), screen magnifiers, and alternative
input devices. Some knowledge, skills, and experience with website
development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA) roles related to
accessibility. Demonstrated ability to evaluate websites and
digital content for accessibility compliance using tools such as
Lighthouse or Siteimprove. Strong oral and written communication
skills, with the ability to translate complex accessibility
concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non?technical
stakeholders. Additional Considerations Considerable experience in
