Job Description:
Genworth Financial, Inc., a leader in long term care, mortgage
insurance, and annuity solutions, is seeking a skilled Principal
Data Engineer to enhance our data capabilities and drive innovation
within our insurance products and services. In this role, you will
lead complex data projects and collaborate with a dynamic team to
create robust data pipelines, implement machine learning models,
and deliver actionable insights to support strategic decisions and
product innovations. Your expertise will directly contribute to
securing the financial lives of our customers, delivering
cutting-edge technology solutions that align with our commitment to
helping families and individuals navigate their future confidently.
Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data
management systems. Ensure systems meet business requirements and
industry practices. Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes,
predictive models, and proof of concepts. Research opportunities
for data acquisition and new uses for existing data. Develop data
set processes for data modeling, mining, and production. Integrate
new data management technologies and software engineering tools
into existing structures. Create custom software components and
analytics applications. Collaborate with data architects, modelers,
and IT team members on project goals. Lead the strategic planning
of data architectures and data modeling. Implement security and
data privacy policies aligned with Genworth's standards. Expertise
in data modeling, warehousing, and relational database design.
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
Platform), Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as
Python, Java, or Scala. Strong understanding of distributed systems
and large-scale data processing frameworks like Hadoop and Spark.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn,
TensorFlow, PyTorch) and ETL tools. Excellent problem-solving and

Professional (CDMP) Desirable: AWS Certified Data Analytics -
Specialty or similar certifications in other cloud platforms.
