SRI's Information & Computing Sciences Division is taking on some of the world's most important challenges, creating leading-edge technology solutions that have revolutionary impact. SRI's Computer Science Laboratory (CSL) develops leading-edge tools and methods for areas including computer security, high-assurance systems, advanced user interfaces, computer networking, robotics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. We study the logical foundations of scalable systems beyond the scope of traditional testing or simulation, and we create and apply high-level tools for rigorous mechanical analysis. CSL is seeking an M.D./Computer Scientist to contribute to research at the intersection of medicine and computer science. This role involves work on multiple projects in areas including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and system design. The successful candidate will share knowledge of clinical processes, medical data ontologies, and treatment practices with colleagues. The role provides the opportunity to improve care outcomes and reduce the cost of care via research programs with ARPA-H, DARPA, and other SRI clients interested in medicine.













Responsibilities

• Contribute to, manage, and/or lead existing projects for government and commercial clients
• Contribute to, manage, and/or lead the development of proposals for new and follow-on R&D projects
• Make project-oriented oral presentations and write technical reports

  • M.D with M.Sc. in Computer Science
  • 5+ years experience as a practicing physician
  • 2+ years experience applying data science to electronic health records and/or medical devices
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.The salary range is: $142,281-$188,523 (full time equivalent). Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
