REPORTS TO: Director of Systems, Development

NUMBER OF POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: 0

LOCATION: Arlington, VA. Hybrid schedule available.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Database Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the operations of the Development Team and reports to the Director of Systems for Development. The Development Database Assistant is responsible for processing all gifts made online; assisting with processing gifts made via check, wire and stock; providing data capture support for the Frontline Fundraisers on the Development Team and will work extensively with our Raiser's Edge CRM. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized and comfortable with a workload that will shift fluidly between time-sensitive projects.   • Manage gift processing, including new record creation in Raiser's Edge, for gifts made online via The Conservation Fund's website, Facebook, and through aggregators, gifts of stock and matching gifts.
  • Process and attach in Raiser's Edge via Papersave outsourced tax acknowledgement letters.
  • Regularly update donor information that is supplied by printer following large mailings.
  • Manage the organizing and scanning of our archived hard copy donor documentation into Raiser's Edge via Papersave.
  • Support Development Operations team members by providing back up on projects during peak times and vacations, including but not limited to tax acknowledgement letters.
  • Additional special projects related to the broader Development Team, as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • 1-3 years of work experience (internships and volunteer experience included), ideally in a nonprofit Development department.
    • Organized, detail-oriented and strong work ethic.
    • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
    • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
      • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
      • Experience working with Raiser's Edge and other Blackbaud products.
      • Knowledge of environmental/conservation nonprofits.
      • Experience working directly with customers/donors.
      • Conservation experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
        • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. WORK ENVIRONMENT
          • Work is performed in an office setting.
          • This position does require sporadically working long hours and/or weekends.
          • Estimated travel - 0%. COMPENSATION and BENEFITS

            The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000, and the position is eligible for opportunities to earn performance-based bonus compensation. The Fund offers a highly competitive package of benefits including employer contributions for health care, paid holidays, vacation and personal/sick leave, retirement plan and more.
