Job Description:

C&M is looking for a GIS Analyst with expertise using specialized software and the ability to combine data, knowledge, esthetics, coding, and cartography to analyze and communicate spatial information effectively. You will be collaborating in a professional environment with a team of local and remote engineers and planners from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for self-motivated team members with a strong desire to research, learn, and grow. We seek team members that feel comfortable collaborating with others to solve problems and advance the state of the practice. Successful candidates will be able to develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals and efficiently use web resources to research and solve problems.Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a GIS Analyst, we'll count on you to:Design and implement planning tools for analysis of urban and regional planning problems applying systems analysis.Conduct travel surveys and analyze travel characteristics for planned facilities.Perform travel demand modeling to estimate future traffic and toll revenue, employing decision making systems and principles of systems engineering.Perform visualization of spatial data and spatial analysis of land use developments and changes.Develop geodatabases from land use and transportation networks.Import and join data into Geographic Information Systems.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or closely related field.5+ years of practical GIS experience in transportation consulting with an undergraduate degree; 1+ year of practical GIS experience in transportation consulting with a graduate degree.Proficiency in ArcGIS and ArcGIS extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Publisher, etc).Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsGISP, AICP, PE, or other professional certification.Email resumes to opportunities@ with 'GIS Analyst - VA' in the Subject lineby Jobble
