Job Description:

The Python Developer:-- Designs, writes, refactors, tests, and maintains code to extract, transform, load, and display transactional data.-- Produces reports with static and dynamic charts to communicate system performance, historical trends, and projections.-- Gathers customer requirements to define system scope and objectives-- Documents software designs, data architectures, and operating procedures pertaining to the reporting environment-- Provides expertise in responding to customer ad-hoc data requests and root cause analyses.-- Works with project managers, other developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.-- Evaluates new and existing software products.-- Assist in all phases of the software development lifecycle.-- Resource may manage SharePoint DevelopersThe Python Developer should have the following skills:-- Expert in Python-- Familiarity with ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries-- Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system-- Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes-- Strong unit test and debugging skills-- Strong understanding of Git-- Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture-- Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python Key Tasks and Responsibilities -- Write effective, scalable, extensible, and clean code.-- Test and debug existing code.-- Build and execute queries against production databases to support various data analysis and reporting requirements.-- Create and maintain reports and provide detailed analysis of the data.-- Maintains, develops, and recommends process improvements based on data needs while ensuring consistency and quality of the reports and other deliverables.-- Understand and improve functionality of existing systems.-- Assess and provide level-of-effort estimates for feature requests.-- Coordinate with team members to understand gathered customer requirements and provide technical solutions.-- Participates in the evaluation of new technologies to ensure data analysis and visualization tools used are in line with the industry standard.-- May provide support in statistical analysis and modelling and simulation.-- May provide support in the development and maintenance of predictive models for performance and workload analysis. Education & Experience -- Bachelor's degree or higher and 5 years of experience The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate working knowledge with most of the following concepts or technologies:-- Python-- Git-- SQL-- PostgreSQL Database-- Oracle Database-- Amazon Web Services (AWS)-- MS Excel-- Database and Data Warehouse Architecture-- Statistical education and/or experience is a plus Certifications -- None Security Clearance: Capable of obtaining Public Trust Clearance Candidate must possess DHS Suitability background investigation or be eligible to qualify for DHS Entry of Duty background investigation followed by DHS Public Trust Clearance without sponsorship. - provided by Dice
