Overview and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Complex Hotel Revenue Manager functions as a member of our
Crystal City hotels' Revenue Management department and maintains
the guest rooms inventory for a given area and is responsible for
maximizing hotel rooms revenue. This manager is responsible for
various revenue initiatives, ensuring hotel's financial goals are
met and consistent, high level of service is delivered with a focus
on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that
enable achievement of the property's sales objectives. This role
will oversee Revenue Management functions for the Crowne Plaza
Crystal City and Holiday Inn National Airport in the Arlington and
Washington D.C. area. This position offers a flexible Remote and
In-Person work schedule, but is expected to be on property
weekly.
The Complex Hotel Revenue Manager reports to the Regional Directors
of Revenue Management and will engage with Sales and Operations
professionals throughout the hotels.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Takes a predetermined strategy and drives the execution of that
strategy. Provides day to day leadership to achieve property
revenue objectives with a shared responsibility for achieving
financial goals and property revenues.
-Provides market intelligence in evaluating the market and economic
trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed
revenue expectations.
-Provides revenue management functional expertise to Area General
Managers, Leadership teams and Sales Leaders.
-Reviews the Smith Travel Research (STR) report, competitive
shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness
of the hotel's market position.
-Researches competitors' revenue strategies to identify ways to
grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.
-Understands the overall market; competitors' strengths and
weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how
to sell against them.
-Conducts weekly commercial strategy meetings to provide input on
weekly and overall pricing strategy.
-Suggests innovative marketing ideas, develops strategies and
execute tactics to continue to grow market share.
-Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of
information by breaking down information or data into separate
parts.
-Analyzes information, identifying current and potential problems
and proposing solutions.
-Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of
reports, presentations, etc.
-Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems,
and processes.
-Uses reservations system and forecasting systems to determine,
implement and control selling strategies. Maintains accurate
reservation system information.
-Checks distribution channels for hotel positioning, information
accuracy and competitor positioning.
-Assists with Business Account diagnostics process and validates
conclusions.
-Initiates, implements and evaluates revenue tests.
-Evaluates properties' participation in the various sales channels
and develops strong working relationships to proactively position
and market the property.
-Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures and consistently
maintain a professional and ethical representation within the
Sales, Catering and Revenue Management Department.
-Travel required as needed to B.F. Saul Hospitality hotels
Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Demonstrates independent problem solving skills and identify
process improvements needed.
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
-Strong work ethic and professional focus; High level of integrity
and discretion.
-Ability to work extended hours based on business needs, with
physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing,
carrying, and lifting throughout the extended shift. Ability to
push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds on occasional basis.
Experience:
-A proven track record of success in a hotel or a related service
industry
-1-2 years experience in Hotel Revenue Management, Revenue Analysis
or related role Education:
-2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and
Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related major preferred.
