Job Description NEW Laboratory Director Opportunity Schedule: Full-Time | Days Position Overview The Laboratory Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of all Laboratory Services, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy. This leader provides direction and administrative oversight to approximately 75 FTEs and ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Key Responsibilities • Lead daily laboratory operations across all departments • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards • Oversee staffing, budgeting, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence • Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams • Communicate organizational goals and expectations clearly to staff Required Qualifications • Recent acute care laboratory leadership experience at Manager or Supervisor level (required) • Experience overseeing large teams preferred • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science • Medical Technologist state license • ASCP Certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) — required Benefits Package • Comprehensive medical coverage with low or no copays • Prescription drug and behavioral health coverage • Free telemedicine services and medical transportation benefits • Dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options • Flexible spending accounts and supplemental coverage plans • Free counseling and wellbeing resources • 401(k) with 100% employer match from 3%–9% based on years of service • And more!
