Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Licensing requirements as per state regulations Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 - Experience in a medical/surgical setting - Ability to work every other weekend and adhere to holiday rotation Description: Day shift position requiring commitment to every other weekend and two weekdays based on staffing needs. The holiday rotation requires working one holiday if two fall within the assignment, and two holidays if three occur. The unit is a 32-bed medical/surgical unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practices. Team members are expected to be early adopters of new technology, equipment, and nursing practice models. Key responsibilities include utilizing rapid response and code teams, managing colostomy/ileostomy care, and providing pre/post hemodialysis management. Experience in wound care, IV insulin protocols, and blood product administration is preferred. Candidates should have strong skills in starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, and oxygen administration. Candidates must be prepared to work with diverse patient diagnoses including renal failure, pneumonia, sepsis, and others. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and interpretation services.
