OverviewWe have an exciting employment opportunity for
experienced Radiology Technologists to join our dedicated team of
healthcare professionals! This specific role will be supporting our
Orthopedics Clinic in our Fairfax, VA location. This role is
working Full-Time 40 hours a week, from 8:30am - 5:00pmPSV offers a

disability.Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) Orthopedic
Surgery and Sports Medicine pediatric surgeons work closely with a
comprehensive medical team specialized in the treatment of infants,
children, and teens with muscle, skeletal, and bone conditions and
injuries.A radiology technologist serves an important purpose in a
radiology department. The main role is to assist radiologist with
the process of imaging, and not that of diagnosis as this is the
key role of a physician. The radiology technologist job description
involves taking pictures of the body while utilizing basic X-ray.
They are responsible for ensuring the patients safety during the
course of the procedure. Technologists may be required to explain
the procedure in layman terms to ensure a patients comfort. Most
importantly, the ability to produce a high-quality image
consistently is crucial as this will help physicians to correctly
provide diagnosis.Job DescriptionDemonstrates working knowledge of
all diagnostic imaging equipment and related componentsProduces
high quality radiographs by using proper positioning and
immobilization techniquesSets appropriate exposure factors to
produce high quality filmsUses good judgment regarding film
quality; determines when repeats are requiredPerforms all exams in
a timely and efficient mannerAssures permanent film identification
by using lead markersIdentifies each radiograph/image with proper
and permanent patient dataProtects patients and employees by
adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following
drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast
media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cartChecks
and verifies orders for accuracy prior to examineDocuments patient
care services by charting in patient and department
recordsSubmission of charges and documentation immediately
following examFollows correct procedures regarding warm-up, use and
shut-down of equipmentMaintains safe and clean working environment
by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsGreets patients
respectfully, introduces self to patient and treats all
patients/families in a kind, courteous and professional
mannerExplains exam to patients/parentsCommunicates with patient
throughout the exam and releases patient/parent with appropriate
follow-up informationAssures room is prepared & stocked prior to
start of examMakes every attempt to meet scheduled appointment
times and accommodates stat or add-on requestsPresents a neat and
professional image via appropriate dressAdheres to all OSHA
regulationsInquires about menstrual status and possibility of
pregnancy for female adolescents and teensMinimizes radiation to
patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques,
using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of
exposure factorsEnsures operation of radiology equipment by
completing preventive maintenance requirements; following
manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling
for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new
equipment and techniquesImmediately reports equipment malfunctions
to manager in a timely mannerContributes to team effort by
accomplishing related results as neededOther duties as
assignedMinimum Qualifications RequiredGraduate of an AMA approved
program in Radiologic TechnologyOne (1) year clinical radiography
experience in a hospital environmentA.R.R.T. certified or
eligibleCurrent CPR certificationAll employees must pass an
