Job OpportunityInova Health System is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join their team in Arlington, Virginia.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide clinical services in multiple modalities, utilizing Imaging practice standards, with equal time spent in each modality, based on OU needs. They will also act as a resource to Imaging Students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.Responsibilities

• Administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures while ensuring the safety of patients.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Imaging principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes while utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients, or patients' charts, to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination.
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment, ensuring rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies for procedures.
• Perform and document routine quality control testing of equipment, and recognize the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images.Requirements
  • Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start within 3 Months of hire; Upon start, ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training.
  • Licensure - Upon start, must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with one of the Inova hospitals.
  • Experience - One year of experience as Radiologic Technologist.
