QualificationsTo qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma Nursing--- Current and valid VA Registered Professional Nurse license and registration--- 1 - 2 years experience in Medicare Certified Home Health Agency--- Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, teaching, presentation skills--- Critical thinking skills--- Customer service skills--- Working knowledge of Computers--- 1 - 2 years Staff development experience in Home healthcare and CMS regulations--- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization--- Graduate of school of nursing--- Must possess valid VA or neighboring state driver's license and must maintain VA or neighboring state minimum auto insurance--- Two years' experience as an effective educator/teacherResponsibilitiesIn this role, the successful candidate Responsible for precepting and orienting new and existing staff, providing ongoing evaluation, performing field evaluations to ensure competency in the Home Health setting as it applies to agency standards, regulations, American Nursing Association standards of practice for Home Health and best practicesAssists in the design and implementation of educational development of allPrecepts and orients new and existing staff, providing ongoing evaluations, performing field visits and providing educational sessions to ensure competency in the home health setting as per agency standards, federal and state regulations, ANA Standards of Practice for Home Health and Best PracticePerforms other duties as assignedAssists Agency leadership with achieving corporate goals, analyzing data, improving patient care outcomes and patient satisfactionParticipates in Agency quality assessment performance improvement initiativesEnsures that staff complete and maintain accurate, complete and timely documentation reflecting the assessment, intervention, education and evaluation according to Federal, Department of Health and The Joint Commission standardsAssists in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nursing staffAssists in coordinating the experiences for RN, PT, OT, MSW, LSP and educating the Agency s home health aidesAssists in developing, researching and maintaining standardized resources and patient education materialsAssists the Supervisor of Staff Development in designing and implementing orientation, competency and disease management programsCommunicating effectively with doctorsEducate patients and their families about various health conditionsCoordinate careCommunicate between healthcare providers and specialistsRegistered nurse is expected to provide health education and counselingPOSITION SUMMARY:Directs, coordinates, implements, teaches, and evaluates the educational activities for organizational training, development, and continuing education programs which facilitate professional development and customer satisfaction for Associates and physicians, ensures competent staff and compliance with regulatory agenciesServes as a consultant in development of educational programs for patients, the community, and affiliating educational institutionsCoordinates with strategic management decisions to promote through education
