Overview:
Title: Physician AssistantSchedule: Full-TimeLocation: Neurosurgery -Purpose and Scope:The Physician Assistant will be involved in the care of all patient admitted to our inpatient service, ranging from the critically ill, unstable ICU patients to floor patients. The Physician Assistant will see patients in the emergency room, in the intensive care unit, in the intermediate care unit and on the telemetry and medical/surgical floors. The Physician Assistant will work in collaboration with the doctor on call for Neurosurgery. The number of patients seen by the Physician Assistant will vary on a daily basis. We estimate that he/she will see between ten and twenty-five patients per day. The Physician Assistant may be responsible for initial history and physical examinations, admissions orders, daily progress notes, daily medical orders, transfer orders to various unit and consultation with other health care members. -A. Education: -Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and current certification through the NCCPA.B. Experience and Skills Required: -One year of patient care experience.
