Eisenman & Associates, Inc. (E&A) is an association management and meetings consulting company based in Richmond, VA that has been in business for over three decades. E&A provides a wide range of services, including full association management, project-based association management, meetings consulting, full-service meeting planning, accounting, database management, volunteer leadership development, and creative design.E&A is seeking an Executive Director to work in the company's Association Management Division. This position's primary responsibility will be to lead E&A's largest client, the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE). Additional responsibilities include project and team management for other association clients as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative, and detail-oriented team leader. Knowledge and experience in association management, board management, sponsorships, and financial management is key. Attention to detail, ability to think ahead, strong communication and customer service skills are essential.This full-time exempt position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, with a preference for 3 or more days per week in our Richmond, VA office. Travel mostly within Virginia is required with an average of -10 overnights annually. College degree or relevant experience required.Duties will include but are not limited to:Serve as the Executive Director of the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE)

  • Work directly with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to efficiently and effectively lead and manage VSAE towards fulfilling its Mission and Strategic Objectives
  • Collaborate with VSAE Treasurer and E&A's VP of Finance to manage VSAE's financial assets and budget
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of VSAE's strategic plan with the Board
  • Work with the Profession Development Committee on educational programming/securing content leaders
  • Promote the CAE program and manage the semi-annual CAE study groups
  • Lead and oversee the development, sales, management, and delivery of VSAE's bundled advertising and sponsorship program (Partner Program)
  • Manage VSAE communications - including print/digital newsletter, website, emails, and social media
  • Guide and assist the staff team to schedule, plan, promote, and market VSAE meetings and events
  • Help drive membership growth by implementing effective recruitment and retention strategiesOversee workflow, project, and team management for additional association management clients and projects as they arise. Assist the E&A team in responding to proposals for new association management clients and projectsHow to apply:

      • 7+ years of association management or related senior leadership experience
      • Strong leadership skills and exceptional project management abilities with attention to detail
      • Excellent customer service skills for interactions with members, Board, volunteers, vendors, and clients
      • Effective communication (written and verbal), proofreading, time management, and organizational skills
      • Visionary who thinks, acts, and leads strategically
      • Problem solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to work on multiple tasks independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment to meet deadlines
      • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
      • Experience with association management systems; proficiency with MemberClicks and/or WildApricot a plus
      • A Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation is preferred
