Job DescriptionBright Beginnings, Inc. is a non-profit
organization operating early childhood and family learning centers
for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to provide a
safe, nurturing educational environment, prepare children for
kindergarten, and support homeless parents towards stability and
self-sufficiency.Summary: This position is the chief academic
officer responsible for childcare and early childhood education
functions. It involves setting educational approaches, implementing
evidence-based curricula, establishing School Readiness Goals, and
analyzing program effectiveness. The role requires expertise in
child development theories, early childhood education standards,
and regulatory compliance, including Head Start Performance
Standards, NAEYC Accreditation, and relevant local
regulations.Essential Duties
- Supervise instructional staff, including observations, lesson
plan monitoring, and staff development.
- Communicate program objectives effectively with staff.
- Establish and monitor policies and procedures for educational
services.
- Lead Program Focus Reviews and coordinate updates to service
plans and policies.
- Manage NAEYC accreditation processes and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all grant standards and regulations
daily.
- Assist with reporting and compliance monitoring.
- Oversee classroom practices, assessments, and staff-to-child
ratios.
- Lead parent involvement initiatives and coordinate enrichment
activities.
- Manage data entry and analysis of child outcomes, producing
reports for governance.
- Conduct classroom assessments and use data to inform curriculum
and staff development.
- Develop and oversee School Readiness Goals, providing feedback
and performance evaluations.
- Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation.
- Identify staff training needs and oversee professional
development.
- Collaborate with other program managers and represent the
organization externally.
- Monitor budgets related to education services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
- Alignment with mission and organizational culture.
- Master's degree in early childhood education or related field;
teaching experience required.
- Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in program administration or
related fields.
- Annual professional development compliance.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and
relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Clearance checks and health screenings as per
regulations.Physical Demands
- Lift 25-50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, squat, sit on floor, see, hear, speak.
- Ability to raise or move objects and sit for extended
periods.
