The IT Project Manager I is responsible for identifying and
collecting the framework and requirements of new and existing USO
technology solutions as well as assisting with program
implementation and support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)
- Plan, execute and manage information systems projects of
varying size and complexity.*
- Coordinate with internal customers to identify requirements,
scope, cost, resources, schedule and quality objectives related to
current and prospective IT system solutions. Ensure projects meet
customer needs.*
- Evaluate information gathered from a variety of internal and
external sources including but not limited to interviews,
documents, requirements workshops, surveys, business process
descriptions, task and workflow analyses in order to identify,
analyze, and prioritize business requirements.*
- Develop, organize and maintain project lifecycle-related
documentation including scope of work, functional specifications,
requirement specifications, project timelines and deliverable
acceptance documents related to current and prospective information
system/technology projects.*
- Manage information technology contracting process, including
but not limited to providing input and guidance on specification
development, vendor analysis, provider selection, review of
contract documentation, contract administration and
implementation/project management.*
- Develop and deploy customized courseware and training materials
to assist end users with new system adoption. Coordinate training
sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business
Administration or related field.
- 3-5 years work experience in a technology or organizational
management support role. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit,
military, multicultural and/or global organization
preferred.
- Ability to analyze and communicate IT services, program
metrics, and system life-cycle management.
- Ability to write and produce clear and understandable project
scope statements, statements of work, requests for
information/proposal, and other business documents.
- General understanding of organizational processes, information
requirements, and enterprise applications needs of a mid-sized,
globally dispersed organization.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving
skills. Ability to articulate and translate technical concepts to a
non-technical audience.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to
controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to
handle confidential information with tact and poise.
- Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail
with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing
priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing
organizational needs.
- Ability to achieve desired results while working
collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to
access USO Center locations and facilities including but not
limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA
status, valid driver's license.

- This position is located in Arlington, VA. Preference will be
given to local candidates within commuting distance to the
location. Remote working arrangements may be considered for highly
qualified candidates.
