Responsibilities

Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical/analytical field
  • 5 years of overall data management, data governance and/or metadata management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing data cataloguing projects
  • Working knowledge of Alation and other industry standard data cataloguing tools
  • Ability to develop and deploy management process associated with metadata quality in the repository
  • Ability to convey complex Data Management concepts in business-friendly terms to non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of data governance and metadata management principles such as Lineage, Profiling, Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, etc
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams to normalize data and develop companywide policies around data, classifications, and controlled vocabularies
  • Experience with large/ corporate-wide initiatives surrounding Taxonomy, Ontology, and Governance
  • Ability to direct development of standards around how key data elements are named, categorized, tracked, and managed to serve as single source of 'truth'
  • Knowledge of SQL and API concepts
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills - communication is key
  • Experience using the Agile methodology
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve issues independently
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and individually while maintaining customer focus
    Qualifications

    Nice to Have:
    • Master's degree in computer science or related
    • Experience working with cloud infrastructure services like Azura and Amazon Web Services
    • Knowledge of SQL
    • Knowledge of BI Tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
    • Relevant professional certifications
    • Prior consulting experience
    • Business development experience
