A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking to bring on a Non IT Program Manager / Strategist to be based in Washington, DC. Position is on a hybrid model - 2 days remote, 3 days onsite. Position is on an 18-month contract basis. JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client is looking for a strategist with 3 years of experience with strategic planning and research. This role will need to have substantial knowledge of, and work experience with medical debt or consumer debt. This role also must have someone who is familiar with leading primary and secondary research projects and has experience performing qualitative analysis to identify themes. A top candidate will be agile, curious, proactive and self-motivated. We will face challenges and slow-downs. Client needs someone who is thinking ahead and finding creative solutions. Our client is creating and advancing solutions that help older adults with low-incomes access programs that reduce the financial burden of consumer debt on their household's cash flow. This role is a blend of strategy and research to inform new program design and grantmaking. The successful candidate will play a central role in applying insights gained from consumer research, market intelligence, and data to inform program and service design that deliver high impact for older adults who have medical/dental debt and high debt-to-income ratios. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to craft a strategy based on organizational strengths and deliver a roadmap. Responsibilities: --- Conduct landscape analysis to guide new consumer debt program efforts, starting with a deep dive on medical and dental debt amongst adults 50 who have low incomes. --- Conduct stakeholder interviews across the enterprise to document existing knowledge and perspectives on medical and dental debt; distill into key insights and takeaways. --- Map ecosystems and key stakeholders (internal and external) for medical and dental debt programs; represent findings visually to show interconnected relationships and systems. --- Document organizational strengths and limitations, and collaboratively determine how these should focus our work and can be leveraged for greatest impact at scale. --- Gain a thorough understanding of older adults' needs with medical and dental debt by conducting research (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.). --- Distill key themes and insights to develop customer personas, journey maps, and other artifacts. Skills & Experience: --- Completion of an advanced degree in business, design, or a related discipline required, and 3 years of experience in strategic planning and research; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position. --- Substantial knowledge of, and work experience with medical debt or consumer debt. --- Experience on multiple projects leading primary research (e.g. interviews) and secondary research (i.e. literature reviews, market scans), performing qualitative analysis to identify themes, creating frameworks (e.g. journey maps) and synthesizing findings for project stakeholders. --- Significant experience applying analysis tools/ frameworks such as stakeholder analysis, asset inventory, SWOT, service blueprints, business model canvas, and journey mapping. --- Experience mapping complex systems and stakeholders, with the ability to distill key pain points and insights. --- Strong sensemaking skills, with the ability to distill large amounts of data into actionable information and to develop nuanced recommendations that take into account the needs of both potential program participants and the organization. --- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise messages for specific audiences. Comfortable and experienced engaging with individuals at any level of an organization. --- Strong project management skills, including creation of detailed project plan, managing scope and competing priorities, ability to work collaboratively or independently and resolve issues as they arise.
